Civics: Students are going to finish watching the movie Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and are going to complete answering the video questions. Students are going to complete these questions.

US History: Students are going to complete Guided Reading 16. If complete, students need to start working on Guided Reading 17.


April is over only 32 more days of school. Remember to keep focused these last days! It is easy to become distracted as we move closer to summer.

Civics: Due to poor attendance we are still working on finishing Presidency Activities, see previous day's assignments.

US History: We are going to play the Jeopardy Review Game from yesterday and then we are going to take the Quiz on Goal 6 Vocabulary. When complete, if time, we are going to watch the short documentary (30 mins) Days that Shook the World: The Wright Bros. First in Flight and answer video questions.

Civics: To finish our current lesson on the Presidency, we are going to view the Biography Channel's Biography on Barack Obama and answer the following video questions as we learn more about the current president. As a class, we will look at similarities between the backgrounds of ourselves and the President. Video Questions: Biography: Barack Obama


US History: We are having a quiz tomorrow on Goal 6 Vocabulary. We are going to play a review game of Jeopardy in class to review the concept. Link Here. When we are complete, the students are going to create notecards using EL principals. More in this presentation on how to create the notecards.

Civics: Students are going to finish their Visual Maps of Chapter 7: The Presidency. If time, we are going to complete Guided Reading 7.

US History: I am going to pass out graded Guided Reading 14, students are going to have the opportunity to raise their grade by completing the activity. The students are going to complete a Crossword Puzzle on Goal 6, using our Vocabulary Notes from Goal 6, (Word file .doc here or PowerPoint Presentation .ppt here). Students who have been in class have already written notes on these concepts.

We are going to have a Quiz on Wednesday on Goal 6 Vocabulary.

US History: This will be the last day for students to complete Guided Reading 14. Students are also going to have the opportunity to complete their Visual Map on page 504 in the American Visions textbook.

I hope everyone enjoyed their spring break. It is now the long haul of 9 weeks to the end of the school year. No time to slack off. It is easy to get distracted during this time, don't let it happen!

Civics: We are going to begin our lesson on the Presidency. We are going to take notes and then we are going to complete questions on the President. Unfortunately I do not have these available online, students will need to get a copy from me.

US History: We are going to complete our notes on Goal 6 Vocabulary. Then we are going to complete Guided Reading 14.
